Why I Am the Coach I Am (Thank you, Ellen)

I’ve been remiss to write lately. Lots going on, but something inside of me today says, “It’s time.”

The trigger has been in the last couple of days, I have received numerous (unexpected) positive feedback about how powerful coaching has been for my clients. Humbling, yes. I am so mindful to acknowledge the success of coaching always stems from the work of the client. It truly is a testament to why I love what I do.

So with that, I reach back to my own past, back in the 2000, when I began my coach training. It was through my program, where I met Ellen from the UK. Ellen was my very first coach and soon to be mentor. She is a woman who opened my world to a whole new dimension of “being”. Ellen lives and breathes gratitude, service and a generosity like no one else I have ever met. She is pure inspiration for me.

My Dear Ellen (at Stonehenge, 2005)

In 2005, our family traveled to Europe. One requirement of the trip abroad was I meet my dear Ellen. Today, as I peruse our photos of that lovely visit, I am filled with so much love and gratitude for this beautiful human being. What I know and believe is that there was a reason our paths were meant to cross in this life time. Ellen will ALWAYS be a part of who I have become.

With that, I share with clients that my hope is their own positive, sometimes even profound personal discoveries are “descendants” of my own personal discoveries I gained from Ellen, which have allowed me to be the coach I am today.

May every person be so blessed to find their “Ellen” in life.
