Is Coaching For You?

Coaching is not for the faint of heart! It requires a readiness and willingness to explore, experiment and challenge yourself. You will be inviting your coach into your discovery process to support and encourage you. Is coaching for you? Ask yourself these questions:

Are you willing to Change? After all, isn’t that why you’re here? Coaching can be hard (but good and important) work, so come to coaching with a keen interest in learning and growing. As your coach, we’ll challenge, encourage, provoke, support, advocate and hold you accountable all in service of your learning and developing.

Can and will you make your coaching a Priority? Your coaching is much more than an investment in your time and money; it’s an investment in your life. Show up; be present to your coaching sessions and make it a daily practice to be active in your coaching assignments.

Will you be Self-disclosing? A willingness to open up and be honest is absolutely necessary. You cannot change what you don’t acknowledge. We will explore current attitudes that determine behaviors (fears, expectations, boundaries, need for skills, clear intent, etc.)

Are you Hopeful? See the opportunities in hardship and adversity. Trust that even in the darkest of darks, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. Accept that with a vision and knowledge of “how-to’s” that the results you seek are possible.

Are you Open Minded?  Be respectful of others, of yourself, and willing to stretch beyond your comfort zone; maybe even fall in order to move forward. Having a sense of humor as you pick yourself up strengthens your resiliency!

Will you Prepare for each session?  Come to the session having given some thought to your vision, your goal, your life, your problem or issue and your opportunity. Be ready to report on your progress, your insights or challenges and with your agenda- what’s most important for you now.
