Embody the Magic

Magic: (noun) The art of producing a desired effect; or (verb) to create, transform, move, etc., by or as if by magic.

We all want a little magic right? That’s easy. Staying in the magic, well that’s a little trickier, but practice makes perfect. The Magic I’m speaking of is the book The Magic by Rhonda Byrne. Very simply, the book is about gratitude, and we all know (or certainly have heard) that having an attitude of gratitude is life changing.

I’m not new to gratitude. I’ve been keeping a blessing jar for almost 2 years now. Before I retire for the night, I write one thing that I’m grateful for on a slip of paper and put it in my jar. I love watching it fill up – a visual reminder of the many blessings in my life and I love reading through them at the end of the year. I started the blessing jar as a way of building a practice of gratitude.

What I’ve found over time, however, is that even a good practice needs shaking up now and again. Enter The Magic! I heard of the book from a friend and was intrigued, so I picked up a copy and started on the 28-day journey of The Magic. As a fan of, and believer in, group consciousness, I bought several copies of the book and asked some folks to join me in The Magic.

So we did, on April 1st we all started The Magic together. Magic happened It happened in some of the areas that the book focuses on: relationships, health and money, but the real magic for me was that I felt lighter, happier~ even amidst struggles or challenges and I saw new possibilities everywhere. I was truly experiencing that gratitude changes everything. It made me realize that though I had a practice of gratitude, I hadn’t yet woven it into the fabric of my being.

Several of the folks who had joined me in the Magic shared similar feelings, some saying that people had commented to them that they looked and acted happier. Like me, they also had some really interesting experiences that they attributed to working the magic.

But here’s the thing- working the magic takes discipline and time. They say that it takes 300 repetitions to establish a habit and 3000 repetitions to embody it. I want to stay in the magic and embody gratitude. I also want to share the wealth and spread the magic so I’ve decided to do some group coaching using the Magic as the anchor. The first one will be begin June 1, 2018!
